THE BACKSTORY:
Authorities are searching for a missing seven-month-old boy after he was reportedly taken Thursday evening in Yucaipa.
On August 14, 2025, at approximately 7:47 p.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Station responded to the 34000 block of Yucaipa Boulevard following reports of a missing infant.
The child, identified as Emmanuel Haro, was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. He is described as weighing about 21 pounds, standing 24 inches tall, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a noticeable cross-eye condition.
According to his mother, Rebecca Haro, the family had been at a nearby youth football stadium earlier in the evening. She said she stopped at Big 5 Sporting Goods to buy a mouthguard for her stepson when the incident occurred.
Rebecca told deputies she laid Emmanuel down in the back of her truck to change his diaper when she was suddenly attacked from behind and got knocked out. When she came to, her baby was gone.
“I got him out of the car seat, and I laid him down so I can get his diaper ready … all I remember, I saw white. I fell on the floor, and as soon as I got up, I couldn’t find my son,” she said. “I checked all around my truck. And I ran into Big 5 and asked if anyone had seen a baby. She said no. He’s a happy boy.”
The child’s father, Jake Haro, pleaded for his son’s safe return.
“He was a healthy baby — crawling, kicking, playing with his toys. Whoever took our son, please give him back,” he said.
Deputies used K9 scent-tracking dogs in the search, but Emmanuel has not been located.
At this time, authorities have not released any suspect information.
Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or contact Sheriff’s dispatch at 909-387-8313.
