Opening his On The Road Again tour with his chart-topping single There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back, Mendes took the audience through a setlist that traced his journey from his 2015 debut to his latest critically acclaimed album, Shawn.
The performance showcased his extensive hits, fan favorite album cuts and deep connection with his audience who sang along to every word.
Speaking on stage, Shawn said “It’s been a long time! My legs are literally shaking right now.
“I don’t remember the last time you made my knees shake. You guys got me!”

Introducing ‘Isn’t That Enough’, Shawn said: “A year and half ago I wrote the album and self-titled it Shawn.
“This music was kind of a journey and discovery back to the reason I started making music in the first place.
“This next song was the moment I remember how much I truly love to sit in a room and play guitar and sing, and it changed the trajectory for me.”
While performing a career-spanning set, Shawn welcomed Nial as his surprise special guest to perform This Town’.
Shawn said: “I met this fella years and years ago, I was probably 16 or 17.
“I came into this industry and I was terrified of everything and everyone.
“We talk a lot of s**t but this man has been an older brother to me.
“I love him with all my heart, please welcome Niall Horan.”
On The Road Again wraps its European leg on August 31 at Germany’s Superbloom Festival, before heading to North America in September and October for a run of sold out Arena and Amphitheatre headline shows.
