Netflix has announced and unveiled its brand new adult animated comedy Strip Law, coming to the streamer globally on February 20th, 2026.
We first got real word of the project earlier this year, as it was deep into production, but the series has been in the works for quite some time. We’ve spotted some people working back on the storyboards for a pilot episode as early as 2023, with one of the artists who worked on Netflix’s short-lived Captain Fall attached. A trademark was then filed in May 2024 when full production had kicked off.
Emmy-nominated writer Cullen Crawford is behind the show with previous credits including M.O.D.O.K. for Disney+, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Netflix’s own Paradise PD. In a statement about the new series, Crawford said, “Getting to make this show with a metric ton of geniuses has been my favorite thing I’ve ever gotten to do. I hope people find watching Strip Law to be the joyous chaotic distraction from our grim reality that making it was for me -and also, that I live to be one thousand years old.”
So what’s the series about? Consisting of 10 episodes, you’ll be following lawyer Lincoln Gumb, who has a personality too boring to win his cases in the iconic Las Vegas. His luck begins to turn, however, when he teams up with a local magician/hedonist named Sheila Flambé to bring some flash and pizzazz to the stupidest cases the city can throw at them.
Titmouse is the animation studio behind the show. The veteran animation studio has worked on a wide range of non-Netflix projects, including Metalocalypse, Superjail!, The Venture Bros., Star Trek: Lower Decks, Animaniacs, Scavengers Reign, Pantheon, and Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. Netflix has produced or contributed to shows such as Big Mouth, The Midnight Gospel, Love, Death & Robots, and several DreamWorks shows.
Underground, which worked on the Netflix movie The After Party and Snowfall for FX, is also producing.
Executive producers on the project include Steven Fisher, Trevor Engelson, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Canobbio.
Who is in the cast for Strip Law?
So far, we’ve got six names cast in the new series, with more likely to be announced closer to launch.
- Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Severance)
- Janelle James (Abbott Elementary, Black Monday)
- Stephen Root (Office Space, Barry)
- Shannon Gisela (Unsolved Mysteries, La Casa del Ritmo: A Film About Los Amigos Invisibles)
- Keith David (The Thing, They Live)
- Aimee Garcia (Lucifer, Dexter)
Of course, this isn’t Netflix’s first police-oriented adult animated sitcom; it previously released Paradise PD, which ran for four seasons in total before coming to an end. On the whole, Netflix’s adult animated comedy has largely struggled outside of successes like Big Mouth, which even showed declining viewership in later seasons. We’re still awaiting renewal decisions on a number of their shows, including Exploding Kittens and Good Times.
