Today, Netflix announced during Tokoyo’s One Piece Day celebration that their live-action series has been renewed for a third season. This doesn’t come as much of a shock, considering how well season 1 did in 2023. However, the announcement also confirmed that the original co-showrunner, Matt Owens, has indeed left the project after two seasons. Writer Ian Stokes has now joined the creative team as co-showrunner alongside Joe Tracz. Stokes is best known for penning 34 episodes of Teen Wolf on MTV in 2011. As well as several episodes of Luke Cage and Iron Fist for Netflix. Production on season 3 begins later this year, back in Cape Town, South Africa.
