Netflix is poaching another YouTuber. Former NASA engineer Mark Rober will be bringing two new shows to Netflix, including a greatest hits compilation of some of his most popular YouTube videos and creating a new reality competition series.

As of August 2025, Mark Rober’s YouTube channel has over 70.4 million subscribers, more than 13.7 billion total video views, and a catalog of over 220 videos. Depending on the source, his channel ranks within the top 100 most-watched channels on YouTube. That’s in addition to regular collaborations with the likes of Mr Beast and a prolific presence across social media on TikTok and Instagram (2.7M followers).

Netflix is teaming up with the creator for two projects:

  • A “greatest hits” style compilation of his most famous experiments will arrive on Netflix in late 2025. Expect entries from his channel, like the world’s largest elephant toothpaste explosion, to be part of this collection. Netflix describes the episodes as being “his most beloved, ambitious, and informative experiments.”
  • A new Kids and Family competition series in 2026

The new competition series is being CrunchLabs, in partnership with Kimmelot. Mark Rober and Scott Lewers will executive produce alongside Jimmy Kimmel and Scott Lonker.

In statements released in a press release by Netflix, Rober said, “I love turning learning into a game, basically hiding the vegetables in the dessert, and now it’s a full-on competition game show!” adding, “When you’re having fun, you’re learning without even realizing it. And teaming up with Netflix and Jimmy Kimmel to make this happen? This is gonna be epic!”

Jimmy Kimmel, best known for his ABC late-night show, said, “My kids love Mark Rober, and so do their parents. Mark’s videos are so clever and inventive, it’s easy to forget that they’re educational, too. We can’t wait to introduce one of the best and brightest creators to Netflix.”

This isn’t the first time Rober has made his way onto more traditional television, as the creator and star of two series created for Discovery: Revengineers and This is Mark Rober.

This marks the latest expansion by creators from YouTube to jump to Netflix. At the moment, the biggest is undoubtedly Ms. Rachel, which has now spent an incredible 21 weeks in the Netflix top 10s despite having only a handful of episodes. Other collaborations include The Sidemen for their reality series Inside (US spin-off coming up in September), Pop The Balloon, and The Amazing Digital Circus
