Thrash metal fans know Gary Holt as Exodus’ guitarist and primary songwriter.

He began playing with Slayer in 2011, becoming a full-time member two years later.

Gary discussed selling merchandise and memorabilia on his Holt Awaits website.

The guitarist explained to Metal.de: “People think, ‘Oh, you’re a rich rock star’… No!

“I sell shirts and I sell them out of my f*****g closet. Pack this one up, label it, send it off.”

Gary added: “It doesn’t pay the bills.

“[But] it helps… It helped a lot in the pandemic.”

Formed in 1979, Exodus’ line-up has changed a number of times over the decades.

Their extensive discography includes 11 studio albums and three live albums.

Gary has featured as Exodus’ guitarist from 1981–1993, 1997–1998 and 2001 to the present day.
