Fatal Seduction Season 2 Review
I’ve felt a lot of negative things about Fatal Seduction, the unnecessarily complicated and overtly sexual series about everything and nothing. Although the first season was a dissatisfying and uncomfortable watch that had more NSFW content than thrills, I can say that season 2 feels more personal and thrilling, with, of course, the unnecessary sex plaguing the runtime still.
With a sex dungeon in the mix now, there are some uncomfortable moments, but I must say that the central conflict is thoroughly engaging, and the question of what happened to Busi, Precious’s character and everyone’s relationship with one another makes you keep watching this time around. With a shorter runtime, I found myself engaged with these characters, and everyone shows their flaws and problems, fighting with one another for selfish reasons. It’s interesting to watch these grey characters explain themselves again and again, and you can’t help but hate them, yet keep watching!

This isn’t to say that the series isn’t without its flaws. Sometimes it’s hard to understand everyone’s reasoning, and I found myself hating these people more than anything once again. However, at least the focus is more on the mystery this time. It’s one of those rare instances when I liked the second season more than the first. Although there are some inconsistencies, the discussion surrounding the crime and its reasoning makes cohesive sense up to a point.
I also think that the series does a good job of discussing abuse and grooming well. Precious’s entire storyline is a heartbreaking and unfortunate ordeal that will make you feel something for her. It doesn’t use the topic as a way to push the story forward, but it is an important part of the story as well.

Performances are great throughout again. Kgomotso Christopher and Prince Grootboom are engaging throughout, Nqobile Khumalo is commendable as Precious, and everyone else does their part well. Now, this isn’t a shade on the actor, but Zinhle’s character is the most nonsensical person in this show again and left me incensed every time. Ngele Ramulond is great, though.
Final Thoughts

I think I enjoyed Fatal Seduction Season 2 for what it was. It’s not overtly convoluted. I was engaged in the crime storyline, and the sex, although uncomfortable, was a bit controlled this season. There are still some unnecessary, illogical moments, but that’s a part of shows like these.
