The episode opens with Seok-cheol confronting Tae-hoon outside the recording studio. He warns him to stop interfering in Mi-yeong’s life before their relationship becomes even more strained. Tae-hoon leaves only after Mi-yeong bluntly tells him to go. Once the tension settles, Seok-cheol smiles at Mi-yeong, amused by the way she had stood her ground. She tells him she can be frightening when angry, prompting a light-hearted moment between them. Soon after, she asks him to take her somewhere far away, and without hesitation, he agrees.

Seok-cheol books bus tickets to a rural destination. While preparing to leave, he briefly panics when he cannot find Mi-yeong, only to discover her wearing the yellow dress he had just bought her. The sight reminds him of a poster he once saw at her home. Relieved, he embraces her and they set off for their short getaway.

Elsewhere, Seok-kyung struggles to keep her emotions in check. Although her circumstances weigh heavily on her, she makes an effort to live decently. Meanwhile, Ki-hong arrives at Seok-hee’s home, seeking to apologise. He convinces her to go out with him, and the pair enjoy what becomes one of the best days of their lives, temporarily setting aside the issues between them.

In the countryside, Seok-cheol and Mi-yeong watch the sunrise together before spending the day exploring a local park. Their time is filled with laughter and quiet moments, a rare escape from the complications of their daily lives. Back in the city, Tae-hoon visits a funeral home and reflects on the past. Viewers learn that the woman whose photograph he stares at was his sister, who died years ago. Tae-hoon reveals that she could not receive life-saving surgery because Chang-soo, his boss at the time, failed to give him the money he had requested. This incident fuelled his hatred towards Chang-soo and his desire to overthrow him.

Through flashbacks, it is revealed that Seok-cheol and Tae-hoon were once close friends. Seok-cheol often took the blame and even endured beatings on Tae-hoon’s behalf. However, Tae-hoon, moved by Seok-cheol’s sacrifices, decided to cut ties and walk away, believing it was for the best. In the present day, when Cheon-ho talks about killing Seok-cheol, Tae-hoon’s anger shows that he still regards him as a friend despite everything.

Meanwhile, Sil-gon tries to secure a loan from old friends he had helped in the past, only to find them ungrateful and unwilling to return the favour. Seok-kyung meets a friend who once again encourages her to take a job that would require her to leave. At the same time, her mother dreams about Seok-kyung running away and immediately calls Seok-hee to warn her.

Seok-cheol also hears of the situation and calls Byung-soo, asking him to stay with Seok-kyung to prevent her from leaving. Despite their efforts, their plans fail. Seok-kyung disappears, leaving a text message asking them to take care of her son in her absence.

The news devastates her mother, who breaks down at the thought of losing her eldest daughter once again. On the bus, Seok-kyung speaks briefly to Seok-cheol, who reminds her that her family will always be there for her. Overcome with emotion, she steps off the bus for some fresh air and notices a tree in blossom. The sight prompts her to rethink her decision.
