During the One Piece Day’25 celebration in Japan we got some great new updates and our first look at the second season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece. We also have an update for the third season, which will begin filming later this year. Here’s everything revealed at One Piece Day’25.

Since the end of filming of season 2, fans have been waiting with anticipation for updates and teasers. We received a huge first look at the second season during One Piece Day’25, with all of the exciting new locations, characters, and of course the Straw Hats featured throughout.

Callum Kerr looks excellent as Smoker, who is rocking his iconic double cigars. Smoker is one of the best antagonists of the early One Piece story as Captain Smoker chases the Straw Hat crew across the Grand Line.

Emily Rudd has been a wonderful Nami, and we’re excited to see her in action in season 2 as she takes on her role as the navigator of the Straw Hats as they enter the perilous Grand Line.

We have our first look at Taz Skyler as Sanji, who judging by the picture might be on Little Garden. Fans of the manga and anime will be easily be able to place what Sanji is up to in the picture below.

Season 3 Renewal Confirmed and Begins Production Soon 

In the first look teaser it has also been confirmed that production on the third season will begin soon!

 

In Deadline’s report that One Piece had been renewed for a third season, and production begins soon in Cape Town, South Africa “later this year.”

 

Given the previous reports we’ve had, it was our understanding that production was to begin in the latter half of 2025.
